Hi Everyone! I am still on the hunt for a model for my video blog! So, in the meantime, I would like to just take the opportunity to share my personal experience of finding pilates and the profound effect it has had on my life. It was 2004. I was an active and young mother of two boys. My oldest was 5 and my youngest 3. I had been teaching group fitness classes at a small town gym in Dahlonega, Georgia and I was running about 25 miles per week. My active lifestyle started to take a toll on my body. I suffered from severe plantar fasciitis and was having a lot of knee pain. I went to an orthopedic doctor and was told I had about 200 miles left on my knee before I was going to need surgery! At the time, I was not educated enough to ask on what: ACL, meniscus, etc? So, I got scared. I was way too young to live in such pain! Most everyone who knows me knows that I love music......I live my life to an ever changing soundtrack.  There is nothing I love better than going for a long run and losing myself in music.  It clears my mind, lifts my spirits, awakens hope, and guides me down memory lane all at once.  Give me music and you have given me happiness.  So, that's my personal take on it, but there has been a lot of scientific research on the affect music has on humans.  It has been shown that music can slow down and equalize brain waves creating optimal conditions for creativity, meditation, and sleep.  Music, also, has a positive affect on the heart.  Studies have shown that pulse rate responds to the frequency, tempo, volume, and rhythym of music increasing or decreasing the pulse rate which can produce a measurable affect on circulation.  Increased circulation of blood and lymph harmonizes the body and boosts immune function. Hi guys!  It's Kasey! So, it is getting to be that time of the year when all of our loyal vacationers start flooding the beaches of 30A.  Spring and summer get-aways are right around the corner and SoWal Pilates has you covered on staying in shape whether you are just visiting or a year round local, but what about food.  Good food is plentiful in all of your favorite beach side towns.  From Rosemary Beach to Dune Allen Beach you will find local hot spots to satisfy any hunger!  I thought I would put myself in the body of a weekend traveler who has to eat all of their meals out.  That can be pretty hard on the healthy body, but fortunately for all of us 30A has lots of healthy options!  Here's a full day of eating out on 30A:
