Pilates Love <3

Hi Everyone! I am still on the hunt for a model for my video blog! So, in the meantime, I would like to just take the opportunity to share my personal experience of finding pilates and the profound effect it has had on my life. It was 2004. I was an active and young mother of two boys. My oldest was 5 and my youngest 3. I had been teaching group fitness classes at a small town gym in Dahlonega, Georgia and I was running about 25 miles per week. My active lifestyle started to take a toll on my body. I suffered from severe plantar fasciitis and was having a lot of knee pain. I went to an orthopedic doctor and was told I had about 200 miles left on my knee before I was going to need surgery! At the time, I was not educated enough to ask on what: ACL, meniscus, etc? So, I got scared. I was way too young to live in such pain! (I think we are all always too young to live with pain) Researching "at home" rehabilitation options, I stumbled on to an article about pilates. I started taking mat classes at Body N Balance in Johns Creek, Georgia and experienced almost instant relief from my knee pain. I then began taking apparatus pilates and my foot began to feel better, too! I was hooked. I began my training through The Physical Mind Institute under the very skilled eye of Sandi Ecclestone. I feel so lucky to have been trained by Sandi, as she is a physical therapist and offered a "not just exercise" approach to pilates. I worked at Body N Balance alongside of so many talented, knowledgeable people and learned something new every day. I, also, opened my own studio up in Dahlonega. I have not experienced any knee pain since that initial scare, and still run about 15-20 miles a week. But more than the ease of my physical pain, pilates has enhanced my life in mind and spirit. I look back on all of the fantastic people I have met in my life and the fantastic impact that they have had on me, and I am eternally grateful. My clients, my co-workers, my bosses are all my friends. My very first client in Dahlonega literally saved my life with her generosity and heart. My Body N Balance family has held my up for almost 3 years now. While I miss those friends at BNB, I feel so fortunate to have found SoWal Pilates in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Brittany and Lisa have become my friends, and the clients I have met here are quickly finding a forever place in my heart. If blessings are counted by the good people in your life, I am the holiest gal on earth! Health promote happiness, pilates promotes health. Through my pilates career I have been touched by happy, healthy women and men. I just want to say thank you! You all mean the world to me! And if you are reading this and have never tried pilates, give it a shot! Go to Body N Balance or SoWal Pilates....or any other pilates studio that is in your area. Take it from me, the benefits reach way further than just physical health.

Peace, Love, & Pilates. I love you all (You know who you are!) Kasey
